What you can add
- A fringe event: an evening event around the talk days, such as a meetup, a dinner or a party.
- A workshop before or after the talks.
- A community hub: a corner where your community gathers all week.
- An activity on Saturday 5 June, the community day: the lakes, the goat hunt, a walk, a hike.
- Another venue that opens its doors to GoatConf people.
- Support: pay a supplier directly for one named thing. For example a speaker's flight or room, a round of coffee, the printing or a camera crew. Your logo goes on the supporters page. If you paid a speaker's travel, it also goes on their profile. No money passes through the organiser. Every payment is listed in the public budget.
- A podcast or a camera: bring your own and record. Podcasts are welcome in some of the rooms. GoatConf does not record the talks itself, so a crew, paid for by a supporter, is welcome too.
- Hiring: meet the people who come.
- A hackathon: you, your group or your company organise all of it: the room, the theme, the judging, any prizes and their costs, paid directly to suppliers. It follows the same rules as everything else, and may not collect attendees' data or recruit beyond what people opt into.
The rules
Not everything people propose becomes part of GoatConf. The organiser accepts what follows the code of conduct and the charter and fits the program: its time, its place, who it is for and how it sits next to the talks. Only accepted events are part of GoatConf 2027, listed on the site and shared with the people who come. You run it and you pay for it, and its name says who runs it, for example "Rust night, part of GoatConf 2027". It takes place between about 25 May and 20 June 2027; if not, say why in the description. Anything not accepted may still happen, but not under GoatConf's name.
What happens next
- You fill in the form: the name, the kind, the host, where, when, the cost, how people join, who pays, a public contact and a short description.
- The organiser decides whether it becomes part of GoatConf, may ask for changes, and writes back either way.
- If accepted, it goes on the site, on the page Added by the people who come. If it is between 2 and 6 June, it also goes on the program.
